Elise McIver, Ph.D., BCBA

Dr. Elise McIver is a licensed psychologist and Board Certified Behavior Analyst. She holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Child and Family Development from the University of Georgia and is an alumna of the Teach For America – South Louisiana program. Dr. McIver earned her Doctorate in School Psychology from Louisiana State University and completed a predoctoral internship at the Kennedy Krieger Institute and the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine in Baltimore, Maryland. She subsequently completed a postdoctoral fellowship at the Ochsner Health Center for Children – Live Oak in Covington, Louisiana.
Dr. McIver has trained and practiced in a variety of settings, including outpatient assessment and treatment clinics, an intensive, early intervention center for children with neurodevelopmental disorders, and public and private schools. She specializes in providing behavioral and psychological services for the pediatric population, including typically-developing children and adolescents and those with special needs. Dr. McIver has served as a consultant to school personnel and other community providers who work with children and families, and parent/caregiver education and training are also a predominant component of her experience. She is a graduate of Leadership St. Tammany – Class of 2023 and is a member of the American Psychological Association and the Association for Contextual Behavioral Science.
Dr. McIver’s work is rooted in her passion for providing families in need with exceptional, empirically-based treatment that builds a solid foundation for growth and success. She is continually inspired by the children and adolescents entrusted in her care and is honored to serve the families of Louisiana’s Northshore community.
